Meet Stephen Baer of The Game Agency, a software development company, a software development company focused on building game-based solutions that make K-College and corporate training more effective.

Check out how Stephen’s using Fiverr to help build games for good in our video and interview below.

Tell us a little about yourself. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do, and a little more about (company/project).

My name is Stephen Baer and I am a video game professional who has lived in New York, the majority of my life. For the past 12 years, I've overseen creative at The Game Agency.

We help learners connect better with training material and we turn educators into heroes powering them with fun and analytics. Our games are available in >20,000 schools and used by hundreds of companies including Amazon, Comcast, IBM, Kellogg, PayPal, Philips, Siemens, and Wells Fargo.

What motivates you? Why do you do what you do?

I love games and I appreciate playing with purpose. As a result, I have focused my career on building games for good. In 2007, The Game Agency was founded with the mission of delivering the power of play to Fortune 500 companies.

Initially, we were a custom services business and over time we expanded our business to offer turnkey products. Today we have two cornerstone products:

1. The Training Arcade: a game authoring tool that allows anyone to create training and reinforcement games in minutes. It’s easy to use, fun to play, and provides comprehensive user data. It comes with 8 games including the official Jeopardy! game licensed from Jeopardy! Productions and is playable on phones, tablets, and personal computers.

2. Motivate Cloud: a gamified, social, reward-based learning platform that keeps employees more engaged by letting them earn coins, unlock badges, level up, and climb the leaderboard for completing training and sharing helpful content.

By using The Training Arcade and Motivate Cloud to educate learners (kids and adults alike), schools and companies are meeting their audience where they are and delivering something they already like (games). The result you ask? Active learning, higher engagement, and improved retention.

What services did you purchase on Fiverr / what projects did you hope to get done through Fiverr?

The Game Agency has leveraged the Fiverr community for dozens of pitches and projects over the past few years, building long-lasting relationships with works with a number of Fiverr illustrators and voice over artists.

How was the experience of working with Fiverr sellers?

We view each gig as the beginning of a long term relationship. Fiverr has so many talented professionals with great communication skills and terrific follow-through. The result? Long-lasting relationships built on quality and trust. There are many sellers that we've come back to weekly over the past few years.

Tell us about any type of personal relationship or "connection" you've developed with a Fiverr seller.

While every single Fiverr seller we've worked with over the years has been a virtual (vs. face-to-face) partner some of them might as well be members of our company. Most of our projects last for months and require daily or weekly assignments.

So, Fiverr is less of a transactional solution and more of recruitment and communication tool for The Game Agency.

How does using Fiverr make your job easier?

Simply put, Fiverr has expanded our talent pool exponentially.
