How to Use Chatbots to Boost Your Business

We might not have the same level of technology as The Jetsons yet, but with the invention of tech like chatbots, we're getting closer. Even if you haven't heard of chatbots, it's likely you've used them: Amazon's Alexa, Apple's Siri, and Facebook Messenger are all prime examples. To put it simply, a chatbot is a form of artificial intelligence that engages with users in the same way a human would.

There are a bevy of ways businesses can use chatbots to automate services and save money (and Fiverr can help you with all of them). Here's the lowdown on some ways you can use chatbots to benefit your business – and your bottom line.

A Customized Shopping Experience

Chatbots can provide an automated, tailored shopping experience. A chatbot can act as a shop floor assistant that can answer questions, make recommendations, provide more info about products, and place orders. Another perk is that chatbots are scalable – they can handle numerous requests and questions at once, whereas a human shop floor assistant can only handle a few at a time.

Increased Brand Engagement

Have you ever spent hours crafting the perfect newsletter, only to have a subpar open rate and little to no ROI? Chances are, you'll have more luck connecting if you use a chatbot that can send contextually relevant, personalized messages. Using Facebook Messenger, you can interact with the one billion potential clients on Facebook.

Instead of people sending emails back and forth and having to wait hours or days for a response, the chatbot could answer their questions ASAP. Say you want people to know that you're offering a limited-time sale. If you email everyone, it's likely people will delete it, ignore it or wait days to open it. However, if you send the message with a chatbot, the engagement rate, open rate, and (hopefully) resulting revenue will increase dramatically.

Efficient and Effective Customer Service

Instead of team members scheduling appointments or dealing with customer concerns via email or phone calls, let a 'bot deal with the busy work so your employees can focus on better things. You'll also save the customers time because they won't have wait on hold forever or email customer service just to have a delayed response. Your customers will get answers faster with less fuss, and there's a greater likelihood that they'll turn into repeat customers.

According to The Next Web, using chatbots to automate customer service positions will save an estimated $23 billion per year. Although chatbots can't answer all questions and concerns (they lack emotional intelligence), they can deal with a majority of customer service queries so your human team members only have to step in when necessary.

Now that you've heard some of the perks, are you ready to get started? Use Fiverr to BYOB (Build Your Own Bot). Have you used Chatbots? Tell us your favorite 'bots in the comments.
