Real Estate Agents: Powerful Pictures and Words

Real estate is a popular topic no matter how you look at it. When sales are strong, discussions surround the value of real estate and all the great places to consider investing in. When sales are slow, discussions surround the opportunities to get in on investments that may otherwise be more expensive… as well as countless other conversations that help keep real estate a hot topic among buyers and sellers alike year round.

One thing that never sways, despite the highs and lows of real estate, is the power that both the pictures and the words representing the properties should offer. Chicago-based real estate broker for @ Properties Laura Rahilly believes that “photos and copy are equally important. However, it’s important to consider how each brings value to a listing. Quality photos are a top priority when marketing a home and complimenting, strong copy adds valuable support to what the photos showcase.”

Expanding on this, Rahilly explains that leaning on experts in real estate photography as well as real estate copy is critical in ensuring that you create the best possible listing for your client. The core reason for this is that unlike in the past, prospective buyers are virtually experiencing properties and making decisions as a result of these experiences they have online.

“The value in having someone experienced in photography is priceless. Prospective buyers shop real estate online and in order to attract qualified, serious buyers you need to have top notch photography to support them in virtually touring homes on the internet. This is the modern version of an open house, so every detail matters,” explains Rahilly.

Additionally, Rahilly goes on to explain that “copy is an intricate tool to paint the picture of the property's features, craftsmanship, finishes & ambiance.” To help strengthen your listings, consider the below tips.

Tip #1: Retouch photos to help make them the best that they can be for your prospective buyers.
Often, the perfect photo doesn’t turn out so perfect online. To help, consider retouching to enhance images and strengthen their value to a real estate listing. Tip #2:  Incorporate strong copy to enhance your photos and engage your audience. Real estate is a visual experience but also one that prospective buyers examine in fine print. The details shared that represent a property should be informative, engaging, and ultimately enticing for the buyers to want to learn more about.
