When it came to planning swag for Fiverr’s trip to Cannes, we made the obvious turn to our incredible sellers. We asked them to create designs inspired by Cannes, the seaside, and the power of creativity. They were also each give the same five-color palette to utilize, so while the final images are completely unique, the themes and colors give them a cohesive look. Meet the incredible Pros who designed the totes, and see their creative interpretations below:

MEET CHRIS:

Tell us a little about you. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr Pro.

Hi, I'm Chris Smith, a graphic designer/illustrator from Philadelphia. I create art for the wonderful people seeking something bold and unique on Fiverr.

How would you describe your style?

I would describe my style as a Doctor Seuss book through a kaleidoscope. I enjoy any style I look at whether its hyper-realism, or a child's drawing. I appreciate anything that involves creativity.

What is the significance of the Cannes Lions, in your opinion as a creative?

The Cannes Lions is the epicenter for creativity and I wish I was there.

What was the brief for this project? What inspired your design for the tote bag

The brief I received for this project was fairly open ended. I was given 5 colors that I could use and a 10 x 11 space. When I think of Cannes I think of their beautiful beach, and the romance of the city so I wanted to incorporate that into the project.

Has working on Fiverr Pro changed the way you think about your profession and/or freelancing?

Fiverr has made life easier for me as  a freelancer as everything is self contained via the website. The pricing is already set up as is the pay mechanism and communication is all done through the website. This makes freelancing relatively worry free and allows me to focus on the art. Fiverr Pro has been great because it lets the customer know that they are working with a professional that will deliver a high-end product. There is no back and forth about proving your ability which can turn into a black hole of wasted time. My entrepreneurial spirit has always come from a place of doing what I do best. Not being pigeonholed in a corporate world of homogeneity. Being able to express my vision is very refreshing. A world of sanitized letterheads is not for me haha.

What are your goals for 2018—and what can we expect next from you?

My goal for 2018 is to continue what I'm doing, increase my audience and customer base, and give the customer what they want while expanding on their expectations at same time.

MEET EDITH:

Tell us a little about you. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr Pro.

I’m Edith, I’m a young illustrator who grew up in Southern France. After getting a Film degree I decided to go back to my first interest, illustration. I moved to Paris and joined a startup as an illustrator and junior art director but I quickly wanted to work by myself as a freelancer. I discovered Fiverr and now I’m able to help people get the designs they need and go through the creative process directly with them. For me Fiverr started more like a side hustle but it’s starting to grow and maybe one day I’ll be able to freelance on Fiverr full-time.

How would you describe your style?

I would say my style is very colorful and quirky. I draw digitally a lot but I like to keep a traditional pencil feel to them to give them a little bit more depth.

What is the significance of the Cannes Lions, in your opinion as a creative?

I think it’s a great thing to reward creative efforts in this kind of way, creative fields can sometimes be neglected but this way we can all celebrate it.

What was the brief for this project? What inspired your design for the tote bag

The brief was pretty open, I had a color palette I had to use to illustrate something in relation to Cannes. Cannes is a beautiful French city, with great beaches and of course that glamorous feel. I represented Cannes with a beautiful woman holding a glass of champagne, embracing the sea and holding in her embrace the people enjoying their time.

Has working on Fiverr Pro changed the way you think about your profession and/or freelancing?

What’s great with Fiverr Pro is that it removes the insecurities some buyers might have about the process or the quality of the final product. You can gain searching time and be sure you’ll get a nice product.

What are your goals for 2018—and what can we expect next from you?

Seeing something you asked for come to life is magical. And I want to offer that to other people. Researching what the current market is like and trying to match it as much as possible to be able to give the best product. I want to be able to create illustrations for various markets and clients so I can grow by testing new things out. I think it will give me more confidence and inspiration for the next projects and even personal projects.

MEET NAHUEL:

Tell us a little about you. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr.

My name is Nahuel Nicolas Bardi, I am an illustrator and graphic designer from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I have been a part of Fiverr for 6 months approx. and I sell illustrations for any media.

How would you describe your style?

I like that quote from Frank Lloyd Wright where he said that it is better to have a style in the way you work rather than a single aesthetic style and I think it applies to all creative activities. My working style is one where I always try to find original solutions by mixing things.

What is the significance of the Cannes Lions, in your opinion as a creative?

I think it is a great place to share ideas and find inspiration.

What was the brief for this project? What inspired your design for the tote bag

For this particular project I focused on what people would look for when choosing a tote bag. I think it usually works to have abstract compositions on these kind of pieces, and for this particular one I wanted to convey the freshness that you can see on pictures of Cannes and the whole Cannes Lions' event.

Has working on Fiverr Pro changed the way you think about your profession and/or freelancing?

It gave me more confidence in thinking that I could make a living out freelance work, for sure.

What are your goals for 2018—and what can we expect next from you?

To do more freelance work hopefully!

MEET THANH:

Tell us a little about you. Who you are, where you’re from, what you do on Fiverr.

My name is Thanh Nguyen, From HCM City, Vietnam. I work on Fiverr Pro as a Graphic Designer. I started working on Fiverr in July 2015. I feel so great when I work on Fiverr as a freelancer—you can work everywhere in the world with just a laptop and a network. I love to travel, so Fiverr gives me a chance to combine both working + travel into a lifestyle. Today you can be in one country, and next week you could be in another country you've never been before. This is the lifestyle I dream for.For those who hate to spend 8hrs/day in a company when every day feels the same, Fiverr is the place that gives you freedom to do you. You can work everywhere you'd like, do everything you love, and travel as many as you want!

How would you describe your style?

My philosophy in design is minimalist, simple and perfectionist. I love to make everything simple, beautiful and different from others.

What is the significance of the Cannes Lions, in your opinion as a creative?

Cannes Lions is a global event for those working in the creative communications, advertising, and related fields. It is considered the largest gathering of the advertising and creative communications industry.

What was the brief for this project? What inspired your design for the tote bag

The idea of the tote bag is a map of Cannes. Cannes is a beautiful city with great beach, luxury hotel/casino and food, with the center of the event is Palais des Festivals. So I came up with the idea is place everything surrounds the Palais des Festivals, with some significant symbols like Hotel, Casino and what you could found at Cannes such as great Wine, Cheese, Fashion, Cuisine, Music etc.

Has working on Fiverr Pro changed the way you think about your profession and/or freelancing?

Yes, it's changed a lot. Everyone thinks freelancing is not good, because the income you earn is not stable, and they're afraid of this. But, when you are motivated and try hard enough, people will search for your help and your work. Just like a diamond, people will search for the value. With Fiverr Pro, things changed a lot for me. I work on many great projects. The challenge has increased a lot from normal, and the type of buyers has changed too—they are very nice and let you choose what is best for the project. All these things have helped me grow faster and I really love it. You work less, but there's more quality than quantity. This is critical. This means you have more time to learn more, improve yourself, and earn more.

What are your goals for 2018—and what can we expect next from you?

My goals in 2018 are to make as many new Gigs as I can. You know, there are many problems out there and each Gig you create can solve one of them. This means you will face new challenges you've never met, and this is what drives me.Have a story about a cool Fiverr project you've worked on? Share in the comments below!
