You’ve probably seen that many professions have their own day of recognition: Teachers. Bosses. Nurses. Pretty much every profession under the sun. But there’s never been an official global day to recognize and appreciate the freelance community. And with about 46.5% of the total global workforce (roughly 1.6 billion people around the world) being self-employed (according to the World Bank) we thought it was about time to change that.
Today, October 19th, Fiverr is inaugurating a new holiday called “International Freelancer Day,” and we hope to celebrate this date on the calendar for years to come!
We have a variety of activities and celebrations today and this week, and we hope you’ll join in. Check out our official International Freelancer Day hub to see all that is going on, including:
Lastly, we just want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our Fiverr freelancers worldwide. You make every day about your clients, so let's make this day about you. See below for a message of thanks from Fiverr employees worldwide:
Happy International Freelancer Day!
