Post Holidays

When the holidays are over and it's time to get back to reality, many people struggle with the post-holiday blues on this first week back to work. After all the fun, food, and festivities the holidays bring, it's tough to go back to your daily routine. One way to ease back into work, is by injecting some entertainment to your routine. While you're struggling through meetings and catching up on emails, here are some things you can do to help you get through your first week back at work:

Fill up on good news

Nothing chases the blues away like looking at the big picture and remembering all the good that exists in the world. If that post-holiday sadness starts creeping in, take a break and read a heartwarming news story from the Good News Network or the Uplifting News or Good News subreddits.

Play QWOP

QWOP is a deceptively simple browser game that has you use your keyboard to control various parts of an avatar's legs. The aim is to see how far you can make him run. It sounds like a boring task, but we promise, it's anything but. It's a great way to pass a few hours while pretending you're still on vacation.

Educational web surfing

If you want to kill a few minutes and get smarter at the same time, swing by the subreddits Here's a Fun Fact or Awwducational and learn some new things. Not only will you get to spend some time looking at pictures and videos, you'll also have some impressive facts. Not a bad way to start the new year!

Start planning your next vacation

Entering a new year means your PTO has reset! With that in mind, you have a year's worth of vacation to plan, so start thinking about where you want to go and make it happen this year. For some inspiration check out Mashable's 19 travel destinations for 2016 and Where to travel in 2016.
