Laura Thomas is many things. She’s a writer, performer, mindfulness instructor, entrepreneur, and Fiverr Pro. Hi! I’m Laura, and I currently reside in the mountains of Colorado. On Fiverr Pro I write, edit, and work with creatives to bring their amazing visions to life. You can find my gigs in business copywriting, proofreading and editing, and articles & blog posts.
To be honest, I feel like one of the most fortunate people in the world, because I’m doing something I love. Not only do I love writing and creativity (which I do); I love connecting with passionate people looking to launch something into the world.The awesome thing about being a freelancer is developing collaborative relationships. I can’t complete a job for someone unless we join together in a partnership. They provide the details and the vision, I ask the right questions and create the form. It’s a dance, one that elevates both parties to higher creative grounds. In short, it’s fulfilling and addictive in all the right ways. It’s food for the soul.
Like many, I had a circuitous path to freelancing. My expertise started in storytelling and writing, shifted to psychology, then circled back to creativity. Now, it’s my full-time gig. I work on Fiverr Pro and run my own business, consulting with creatives ranging from speakers to authors to entrepreneurs, helping them curate their projects. Additionally, I do my own writing, speaking, and various creative projects.
Being on Fiverr Pro has taught me a number of things, including how best to organize my business. The freelancing world is fast-paced, and if a freelancer isn’t on top of their game, they’ll be left in the dust. Fortunately, Fiverr Pro provides awesome resources for sellers, helping me navigate any difficulty I come upon.
My favorite projects have a formula: they have heart, a pinch of vulnerability, a heap of creativity, and a zest of awesome people. I love working with speakers and authors. When has someone ever written a keynote speech or a book off the cuff, trying to get by on “just good enough”? Never. These are the people who are deeply passionate about what they do. They’ve built their entire lives around a mission, a platform, a message, or an exploration. They’re willing to risk everything to achieve their dreams, and they’ll welcome any feedback from a trusted source. That’s the kind of passion I love partnering with, because I’m right there beside them. They need a cheerleader in their corner and a fresh pair of eyes. That’s me. These are the project where together, we break into the stratosphere.
The awesome thing about Fiverr Pro is the validation for sellers. It can be challenging getting started in the field, especially finding clients. It’s easy to doubt ourselves and whether or not we have value. Fiverr Pro has elevated my game, and allowed me to get feedback about my work. Through continuous client satisfaction, I’ve come to realize I do have something valuable to offer, and there are people out there looking for it.
