Fiverr User Jerseyferretti Makes Headlines with Christopher Walken Impression.

Have you ever been told you look like someone?

How about, have you ever been told you sound like someone?

Perhaps, at parties you like to crack out an impression of a famous celebrity.

Well that’s exactly what Fiverr user Jerseyferretti does. What’s more, he earns very well from doing so.

Jerseyferretti recently appeared in a news story in the Jersey Journal that highlights his successes on Fiverr:

Chris doesn’t look like Chris but he certainly sounds like Chris

Jerseyferretti, real name Chris Ferratti, actually impersonates another Chris – that being Christopher Walken. He does a damn fine job of it too. He uploaded this video to his Youtube channel which demonstrates just how awesome he is. Be careful though, the language used in the video isn’t appropriate for little people and is certainly NSFW (mostly).

Jerseyferretti, we wish you continued success on Fiverr.

This is the type of media attention we love to see. We want YOU to get more exposure for the hard work that you’re doing! If you’ve got a great Gig or Fiverr story to share with us then please leave us a comment below. It would be awesome to hear from you.

Happy Gigging guys.

Hunky Dory, Jackinory

There’s nothing more satisfying to us than hearing about the life changing experiences you guys have had because of Fiverr. Quirky video artist and musician Jackinory recently reached an impressive milestone for any seller and wanted to share it with us:

1,000 dollars

Congratulations on making $1000 on Fiverr, Jackinory!

We were so delighted for him that we asked if he’d do us the honour and write a special blog post so we could share his achievement with everyone. He’s a little odd and certainly has his own style, so keep an open mind when reading ;)

Over to you, Jackinory:

“So currently I’m laying in bed, using my laptop, editing videos and I just checked my earnings, $1012! I’ve done it, I’ve done something that I set out to do and the feeling is fantastic.

I’m going to explain why making a $1000 on Fiverr has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life – apart from the time a friend’s cat jumped at me to give me a cuddle.

I started on Fiverr 11 months ago, originally it was a case of SamCornwell telling me about it, then me thinking “No one will buy a video of him ranting like a turnip”, but If I could eat any type of hat, it would be the worlds biggest Sombrero right now. So I thought if he could do it, then I could too! I started off with some very embarrassing Gigs which got many orders! ‘zero’ to be exact, I’d failed on my first attempt.

A few months later thing’s really took off when my Dad bought me a Motor bike, I had to pay him back ASAP, I hate borrowing money from him and the guilt soon took over. It spurred me on to make a better Gig, thus creating a video service featuring yours truly. A short while after that I was featured by the wonderful Fiverr staff and the real love story started there!

I’m not the biggest seller on Fiverr by a long shot, I usually get about 3/4 gigs a day to keep me occupied so I plough through them when the fellow housemates have gone to sleep land, I find it easier to work at night as I feel I’m more creative (and also half asleep).

To finish this off I’d like to mention that in September this year I won a competition set up by Microsoft in which I had to make a video stating why I wanted a makeover for my student house. I won the competition! The Windows team will be decorating my living room in my student house very soon and giving me some fantastic prizes! If it wasn’t for Fiverr, I wouldn’t of had the confidence to record myself at all, and now look at where it’s going for me. Amongst the prizes is a phone with HD recording capabilites and so a Hi-Def Gig is in the making, I can feel it! – I will make a video so clear and crisp you’ll be able to see the sweat on my forehead for $5!”

Thank You Fiverr.com”

Ahhh…. Stories like this are why we just LOVE what we do!

Jackinory also recently set up a Facebook page so he could keep his fans informed of his progress on the site.

Fiverr Seller Spotlight: Sucantare

Sucantare PhotoTell Us About Yourself

Well, I think I’m best known for starting my own film festival straight out of college. I can’t say we really knew what we had gotten ourselves into back then but 5 years later ACEFEST is on MovieMaker Magazine’s Top 25 Film Festivals in the world and has quite a substantial following as well. Aside from cinema and event production, I have a strong passion for social media, marketing, web design and… hockey (go Sabres).

What Motivates You?

I’m motivated by results. When I start a new venture, I am always driven by the potential of seeing the fruits of my labor. That may come in the form of money or press or even website hits. The best part about it (and the worst) is that, for me, it’s unquenchable. It’s a constant motivation that molds and changes alongside your accomplishments.

How Has Your Fiverr Experience Been So Far?

I have met some great people. A vast majority of the users I’ve sold gigs to seem to be very excited and appreciative of what I’m offering. For instance, my ACEFEST Bronze Level Sponsorship – we were selling this to local companies for over $250 six months ago and now I’m giving it away to the general public for $5. I think the exchange of support between my festival and the buyers here on Fiverr is far more valuable than the price tag dictates. It’s an investment on our part and we are very, very happy we went down this road. In fact, we’ve even begun selling annual sponsorships and links on a few of our partner sites. In my opinion,
Fiverr is a brilliant idea that popped up at a perfect time in web history and I’m excited to be a part of its certainly vibrant future!

What is Next for You?

I recently launched a new website that caters to sports fans called BarChannels.com. It allows users to search for the best local places to watch their favorite teams. The beta is exclusively for New York City but we hope to expand nationwide in the coming months. This is completely a passion project for me – I have no intention of selling ads or generating any form of income from it, which I’m hoping my members will appreciate.

Fiverr seller spotlight: Woofy

Woofy (Fiverr username: Woofy31) has been a very active seller, and we are happy to give him the opportunity to introduce himself, so here goes:

I’m Woofy, the nerdy IT dog and full-time Fiverr addict. I joined Fiverr like a year ago, and since then I had an amazing fun working on this beautiful workplace – because, admit it or not, it’s not just a fun place, it’s a real workplace for some of us. At first I was skeptic about this whole thing because I had no orders, but what I’ve learned in here is that you have to update or change your gigs until you make THE GIG.

So after the rock started to roll, I began working a lot on Fiverr and realized how big and beautiful it is. I also discovered how good it feels to get awesome feedback from so many nice people, how good it feels to see new orders on your dashboard when you get up in the morning and how spectacular the tech guys are. I still remember my first order – I was like crazy, clapping hands and making sea lion sounds (that would’ve been fun to watch!).

Of course, there are also times when things go bad with some customers – but once you overcome those situations, you quickly forget about all that by continuing to do your thing with passion. I can even say that those situations motivate me to continue and get better at what I do.

So a hint of advice: always try to see the positive side of things! And remember: with patience and saliva, the ant can swallow the elephant!

Poetry!

New order cancellation functionality

We recently introduced an update to our workflow and policy meant to improve buyers’ ability to cancel orders which fail to go by their advertised schedule.

Buyers are now able to cancel orders in the following cases:

  1. At any time before an order is accepted by a seller
  2. When order is in-progress and exceeds its published duration by aprox. 24 hours

When an order is cancelled, the buyer funds are returned to his Fiverr balance. These funds will be used automatically when ordering other gigs on the site.
