Little Mikey Wants to Meet His Daddy!

Everyone loves a good prank, don’t they? Maybe, except for the person on the receiving end. There’s just over 2 weeks left until the biggest Punk’d day of the year. Are you going to be the April’s fool or the one laughing?

I suggest the latter.

Meet video extraordinaire Oldbittygrandma, who has set up this hilarious Gig that will help you do just that.

Click the picture, place an order, laugh all day long.

Delivery time is set to just three days, so you’ll have plenty of time to plan when you can unleash the offending video on your unsuspecting friend.

Will you be ordering any Fiverr Gigs as an April Fool’s joke? Let us know in the comment section below.

They Emerged from a Cheez-It Box…

Over the weekend, a strange box arrived through the letterbox that had ‘Cheez-It’ written on it. What on Earth is a Cheez-It I thought?

I opened the box and one by one, little creatures started appearing. Were these Cheez-Its?

In total there were 8 of the cute little critters, all soft and cuddly and ready to make friends. They’d been on a very long journey and were in need of some attention.

Oh, and they all had names…

Meet Derek, the duck. Apparently, his quack echoes!

This little fella is called Stuart. He’s a dinosaur that only eats bugs. (He’s too small for reindeer and people, but don’t mention that, it upsets him.)

Fresh out of water, this is Kimberly the kissing fish. Kim often gets mistaken for a certain animated fish, but insists that she’s the real deal!

Frank is a beaver that likes to get jobs done. He’s building a shed at the moment, wants to be a sculptor and thinks dams are a waste of his time.

I didn’t catch this little blighter’s name, but I can tell you it was purple, one eyed, horned and could fly.

Meet Kenny, the robot who could ski.

This is Michelle. Michelle has a problem with facial hair and often gets told she looks like a man.

And finally, the leader of the pack – Belinda the courageous lion. She had quite a loud roar that put naughty Cheez-Its in their place!

After a bit of interrogation, I finally found out where they came from. They’d travelled many miles all the way from here. Apparently they have lots of friends that need rescuing too.

Sometimes Breathlessbloom finds herself overwhelmed and can only assist the rescue of a couple of critters a time, however there are plenty of other similar little beings that need your help. Check them out here.

What do you get when you put a Canadian in the bath with a sparkler? A Fiverr news report!

So last night I received a message. “I’m going to be on GlobalTV! I’m going to be on the news with my Fiverr Gigs!”

My good friend Rob, who goes by the name DJEmotion on Fiverr had apparently flagged down a news van earlier in the morning and given them one of his Fiverr business cards (which were suitably designed by user TofuPanda). He told them get in touch to talk about his successes on Fiverr, and they did just that. Back at the studio they’d checked out DJEmotion’s Gigs and fell in love with his bathtub offerings and decided the story was not just quirky, but impressive enough to find out more.

In the afternoon a news crew visited DJEmotion’s home to give a full on interview for a two minute segment on GlobalTV. Wow!

What else is there to say but watch the damn video, it’s great!

Impressed? You should be! DJEmotion managed to take a well meaning but bizarre Gig and explain to the world (or at least 100,000 Calgary viewers) that Fiverr is a global market place where you can get just about anything or any service for just $5! Hats off to the Canadian in the bathtub.

He came, he sky dived, he raised the bar.

If you don’t recognise this happy chappy, then where have you been in the last few months on Fiverr? User Baldy first showed up in the videos section offering an hilarious sky diving promotion video. Within days it gained traction and within a few weeks he was offering several other alter-egos’ video services, including a granny in a supermarket on a scooter and a buck-toothed hillbilly in a caravan. [I kid you not.]

Baldy’s story is an interesting one. I dropped him a line when he first appeared on Fiverr to introduce myself and he was as charming back then as he has always been. Whilst between jobs, he decided to use his hiatus productively and set up a Gig to start earning a bucketful of cash. ‘…Not only does it bring in a much needed income to feed my wife and five children, it keeps this old grey brain active too…’.

What made Baldy’s videos stand out from the rest was his clever use of green screen technology. Offering something unique to his buyers gave him an advantage and pushed sales through the roof. I’ve seen many positive trends happening to Gigs on Fiverr however, what Baldy managed to achieve changed the playing field in terms of quality. He showed the world how to get noticed on Fiverr and become an instant success by providing exceptionally high quality video content.

I’ve recently heard from the sky diving maniac, who got in touch to tell me he’d landed a full time job as a plant manager [Not entirely sure what this is, but I'm imagining Homer Simpson in Mister Burns's nuclear power plant]. I’m delighted for him and feel exceptionally lucky to have met such an inspirational seller on Fiverr, who I believed raised the bar for creative Gigs everywhere.

Before Baldy started his new adventure, I asked him if he could make a video tutorial revealing his behind the scenes secrets on how he actually did it all. I even purchased a Gig for the privilege, although watching it back I think I owe him a few more Fiverrs for the work that went into it:

Thank you Baldy, you’ve been an inspiration and we hope to see you back on Fiverr again some time soon, moistening up that brain of yours.

Hola Fiverr Community, how’s it going? We trust you are all feeling festively plump after a splendid holiday break. What’s everyone been up to?

Now Christmas is over and we’re all nibbling on the leftovers, we thought it’d be a great opportunity to show you another type of leftover – Santa Auditions, created by the fantastic Gnu Films.

Check out this brilliant little video:

With a little bit of help from some great Fiverr sellers, Gnu Films created what we think is an awesome compilation. Our community is nothing short of amazing and up at Fiverr HQ we were overwhelmed when we first saw it. It’s a great example of what you can do when you really put your mind to it!

Thanks Gnu Films – you’re awesome!

Also, here’s a big shout out to the Fiverrs who featured in Santa Audition Tape Bloopers:

oldbittygrandma – Santa doesn’t smoke!

Oops! You’ve Reached the End of the Internet…

404 pages on the Internet are a pain in the butt, we agree. There’s few things more annoying than misplacing a page or Gig, which is why we decided to make the whole experience just a little more bearable.

Here at Fiverr HQ we like to poke fun at ourselves as much as anybody else and occasionally when a 404 page rears it’s ugly head, it’ll be a nice surprise rather than an ugly ‘you’ve reached the end of the Internet’ horror story.

Even the Fiverr 404 Page will blow your socks off!

Introducing the new Fiverr 404 Page (It kinda feels wrong introducing such a thing) where you’ll find some of our more idiosyncratic Fiverr users announcing ‘OOPS!’ in their own whimsical ways.

In all honestly, although we’re very proud of our silliness, we do hope that on this occasion you never actually end up on our 404 page. C’mon guys, there’s Gigs to buy and sell out there!

Think you’ve got what it takes to be one of the randomly rotating videos on here? Drop our wonderful support team a line or leave a comment below.

Crowdsourcing via The Fiverr Community

It’s time to get your thinking caps on, there’s a buyer in town with pockets full of Fiverrs and a grand prize at the end of it for the very best purchase.

Online cloud-based storage and file transfer startup MAXXO are buying up creative Gigs on Fiverr like there’s no tomorrow. The reason being, to create a buzz around their official launch that is planned in just 30 days.

This is from a recent press release about the initiative: “In a bold move in keeping with the company’s user-oriented philosophy, Maxxo has decided to crowd-source all creative materials for its launch campaign from Fiverr.com”. Maxxo tell us that they are looking for everything from animation to hilarious customer testimonials.

Founder and CEO Vedran Sisak continued… “it seems rather a waste of our hard-earned launch money to enlist the help of a marketing and advertising agency that will powerpoint us to death discussing ‘online strategy.” Amen!

Interested and don’t want to miss out on the action? Then you can drop MAXXO a link via their Fiverr landing page to a suitably creative Gig here:

Click and submit your creative Gig!

Enlisting Fiverr sellers to come up with exciting ideas and campaigns for projects such as this one is a clever idea. The competition is bound to be fierce because we’ve seen the incredible talent and creativity before on a similar project harnessing the talents of the Fiverr community run by Luckyrentals over the Summer.

So what happens next?

Every Gig that MAXXO purchase will be posted on their official Facebook page. The video, picture or project that has been created and purchased from a Fiverr user with the most ‘likes’ by the end of the campaign with be awarded by MAXXO with a very smooth $500 cash prize!

Yes, they are giving away $500 – and one of you guys are going to win it!

Head on down to Maxxo’s landing page now and suggest your creative Gig by posting the link in the section provided.
