Watch out 2013 – We’re coming for you!

Attention all Fiverrers, thanks to you 2012 was an enormous year for us all. With a 190% increase in sales, we’ve continued to stake our claim as leaders in the services market. We have also expanded our offering from 12 to 120 categories of services, with an increase in demand for services such as personalized gifts, graphic design, music and audio, programming and tech, video and animation, writing and translations and so many more.

We also want to say hey to our new Vice President of Growth, strategic marketing veteran, Ayesha Ahmad. (All together now) – “Hi Ayesha!”

She is heading up our NYC HQ. Ayesha was previously the co-founder and CMO of Trunkt, a successful marketplace for designer goods which was acquired by Etsy in 2012. In the past, she also led marketing strategy for companies such as Gilt Group and J. Crew. At Fiverr, she will be responsible for growth marketing initiatives focusing on our continued global expansion, fostering community, and accelerating Fiverr’s market position.

In a nutshell she’ll be working hard to make sure you have more incredible Gigs to choose from, and make more money with Fiverr. Sounds good?

With 2013 already well on its way, put your seat-belts on ‘cause we are all in for a wild ride!

Keep kicking ass Fiverr!

Introducing Live Portfolio™

A team of elite Fiverr hackers have been on a top secret mission to bring you an amazing new feature. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’re proud to present to you – Live Portfolio™.

Now you can see seller portfolios directly on the site. Gig pages have a cool new and bigger viewer (600 x 370) so that you can easily browse photos and videos that are posted on Fiverr.

New Fiverr Gig Page

Sellers, you can host samples of your graphic and video works directly on your Live Portfolio. The best part is you can keep growing your portfolio by adding work that you deliver. No need to worry about space – the sky’s the limit.

With each delivery, you’ll have the option to select one file to appear in your portfolio – so if you upload multiple images, you’ll need to choose one of them as a sample for your Live Portfolio™.

Fiverr Live Portfolio - Choose Work Sample

Buyers, when rating your experience with a seller, an image of your order will be displayed alongside your feedback. This is a great way to help the seller show other buyers what to expect when ordering that Gig. We know that some Gigs are personal and meant for private eyes only – you don’t have to share those.  Be sure to share when you can – it’s good Karma! You’ll also notice the stylish new feedback buttons :)

Buyer Choice to Share Work Sample on Fiverr

Pretty sweet, right? And there’s more…

All sellers can now upload up to 10 files totalling 150MB in a single delivery! That’s right, no more delivering multiple files 1 by 1. Plus, your buyers will be able to see all delivered photos and videos directly in the delivery box. Whoaaa!

Sellers, I hope you’re sitting for this one. Gig descriptions have been extended for all sellers to 1,200 characters! You have much more space now to describe your services and lay out your price lists.

That about sums it up! Check out the new Gig Pages on Fiverr!

Subcategories are coming!

Listen good ’cause you’re gonna love this:

In the coming days we will be introducing two new awesome features: subcategories and category search. This means that the existing categories will have a much better structure. For buyers – you will find the services you are interested in a lot quicker and easier. For sellers – you will be able to list your gigs in a much more relevant classification instead of just broad categories.

The new search will support the ability to search the entire site, a specific category or a subcategory. This will improve the user experience significantly.

So, if you are a seller, here’s how it works:
Go to your ‘My Gigs’ page and edit each of your gigs to assign them in the right subcategory. For example; put your logo design gig in the subcategory ‘Logo Design’ under the category ‘Graphics’.
We recommend that you do this as soon as possible because we will be opening the subcategories feature in a matter of days.

“Yeah, but what if I don’t…?” you ask. Well, your gigs will still be there, but they will only appear if someone clicked on the parent category. Your gigs will also have a much lower rank in search results and will not appear when buyers search in subcategories. In other words, not assigning your gigs to the right subcategory will hurt your chances of being found by potential buyers.
So what are you waiting for? Get ready to see your gigs thrive.

Happy gigging
