Tips to Buy Sell and Have Fun with Collections

We love seeing all the amazing collections that you’ve created!

Some collections, showcase the gigs you like, bought and recommend. Other collection are a collaboration of sellers who offer complementing gigs, forming useful service packages.

Awesome!!

You may not know this, but our Editors are always on the lookout for collections to follow. When they follow your collection, it will significantly boost your collection’s popularity and lead to more exposure.

Here are some tips that will help your collection get attention from the Editors and people searching on the site.

Eye Catching Titles, Descriptions and Relevant Tags

Your title and description should clearly describe the gigs in your collection. It should also entice searchers to click on, and check out your collection.

Tags must be relevant to your collection topic. When you have many related keyword tags, it will help your collection get exposure when people search for the services you offer.

Establish Credibility and Become a Community Leader!

When your collections are known as a reliable source to find quality gigs, you’ll earn trust and follows. This will increase your collection’s popularity and give you more exposure.

Be supportive to other community members by following the collections you like. You’ll discover some new services and sellers this way!

For sellers, collections are a great collaboration tool. You can join forces with other sellers who offer related services to create packages – like a one stop shop for buyers looking for related services.

For example, If you’re a logo designer, you can collaborate with other sellers offering web design, office stationery, personal branding, etc.

If you don’t know how to begin, check out this discussion in the Fiverr seller’s group on LinkedIn.

Things to Avoid

  • Don’t spamify your collection by only adding your own gigs.
  • Don’t duplicate existing collections. It’s not friendly, very time consuming and will be considered spam.
  • Make a collection with only a few gigs.

Talent Search: The Hungry Jack’s $5 Experiment

Video makers, voice-over artists, musicians, cartoonists, dancers, singers, crazy people, listen up… This post applies very much to you…

Hungry Jack’s, the Australian version of Burger King, wants to prove that you can get great value for $5. And where better to do that than right here on Fiverr?

To coincide with the return of their $4.95 value meal, they are attempting to create a TV campaign where all the different elements cost just $5. Things like music, animation, graphics, voice-overs and well… pretty much anything that’s crazy.

Hungry Jack’s have dubbed this the ‘$5 experiment’. If you think you’ve got what it takes to be a star on national TV and would like to offer your unique talents, then now is your chance.
Post a link to your Gig in the comments section below and you may receive an order from a Hungry Jack’s representative in the next few days.

He came, he sky dived, he raised the bar.

If you don’t recognise this happy chappy, then where have you been in the last few months on Fiverr? User Baldy first showed up in the videos section offering an hilarious sky diving promotion video. Within days it gained traction and within a few weeks he was offering several other alter-egos’ video services, including a granny in a supermarket on a scooter and a buck-toothed hillbilly in a caravan. [I kid you not.]

Baldy’s story is an interesting one. I dropped him a line when he first appeared on Fiverr to introduce myself and he was as charming back then as he has always been. Whilst between jobs, he decided to use his hiatus productively and set up a Gig to start earning a bucketful of cash. ‘…Not only does it bring in a much needed income to feed my wife and five children, it keeps this old grey brain active too…’.

What made Baldy’s videos stand out from the rest was his clever use of green screen technology. Offering something unique to his buyers gave him an advantage and pushed sales through the roof. I’ve seen many positive trends happening to Gigs on Fiverr however, what Baldy managed to achieve changed the playing field in terms of quality. He showed the world how to get noticed on Fiverr and become an instant success by providing exceptionally high quality video content.

I’ve recently heard from the sky diving maniac, who got in touch to tell me he’d landed a full time job as a plant manager [Not entirely sure what this is, but I'm imagining Homer Simpson in Mister Burns's nuclear power plant]. I’m delighted for him and feel exceptionally lucky to have met such an inspirational seller on Fiverr, who I believed raised the bar for creative Gigs everywhere.

Before Baldy started his new adventure, I asked him if he could make a video tutorial revealing his behind the scenes secrets on how he actually did it all. I even purchased a Gig for the privilege, although watching it back I think I owe him a few more Fiverrs for the work that went into it:

Thank you Baldy, you’ve been an inspiration and we hope to see you back on Fiverr again some time soon, moistening up that brain of yours.

Crowdsourcing via The Fiverr Community

It’s time to get your thinking caps on, there’s a buyer in town with pockets full of Fiverrs and a grand prize at the end of it for the very best purchase.

Online cloud-based storage and file transfer startup MAXXO are buying up creative Gigs on Fiverr like there’s no tomorrow. The reason being, to create a buzz around their official launch that is planned in just 30 days.

This is from a recent press release about the initiative: “In a bold move in keeping with the company’s user-oriented philosophy, Maxxo has decided to crowd-source all creative materials for its launch campaign from Fiverr.com”. Maxxo tell us that they are looking for everything from animation to hilarious customer testimonials.

Founder and CEO Vedran Sisak continued… “it seems rather a waste of our hard-earned launch money to enlist the help of a marketing and advertising agency that will powerpoint us to death discussing ‘online strategy.” Amen!

Interested and don’t want to miss out on the action? Then you can drop MAXXO a link via their Fiverr landing page to a suitably creative Gig here:

So what happens next?

Every Gig that MAXXO purchase will be posted on their official Facebook page. The video, picture or project that has been created and purchased from a Fiverr user with the most ‘likes’ by the end of the campaign with be awarded by MAXXO with a very smooth $500 cash prize!

Fiverr User Jerseyferretti Makes Headlines with Christopher Walken Impression.

Have you ever been told you look like someone?

How about, have you ever been told you sound like someone?

Perhaps, at parties you like to crack out an impression of a famous celebrity.

Well that’s exactly what Fiverr user Jerseyferretti does. What’s more, he earns very well from doing so.

Jerseyferretti recently appeared in a news story in the Jersey Journal that highlights his successes on Fiverr:

Chris doesn’t look like Chris but he certainly sounds like Chris

Jerseyferretti, real name Chris Ferratti, actually impersonates another Chris – that being Christopher Walken. He does a damn fine job of it too. He uploaded this video to his Youtube channel which demonstrates just how awesome he is. Be careful though, the language used in the video isn’t appropriate for little people and is certainly NSFW (mostly).

Jerseyferretti, we wish you continued success on Fiverr.

This is the type of media attention we love to see. We want YOU to get more exposure for the hard work that you’re doing! If you’ve got a great Gig or Fiverr story to share with us then please leave us a comment below. It would be awesome to hear from you.

Happy Gigging guys.

Fiverr User Scoops $1000 first prize in Video Contest

$5 for a video? How about $1000 for a video?!

That’s exactly what happened to Fiverr’s very own yellow celebrity when he won a competition set up by Dashers’ Insurance Services who had been buying video Gigs from selected Fiverr sellers for a competition run by their company.

The brief was simple; to advertise Dashers in a fun, catchy and attention grabbing video. Luckily this is what Fiverr user ProfessorPuppet is perfect at. 56 seconds of pure hilarity is all that was needed to scoop the first placed prize of $1000 from Dashers.

Take a look at his winning entry:

In fact, not only did this win him a sack full of cash, the popularity of ProfessorPuppet’s alter ego was so much so that he also took 2nd place too – Another $500 in the bag! WOW.

What’s more is that Prof. Puppet was not the only video supremo to cash in with Dashers. Fiverr users Krazyretarded and Samcornwell also brought home a cool $450 between them coming 3rd and 5th place respectively.

To see the winners’ page and watch all the videos just click on the picture below:

We think it’s fantastic that pockets of our community appear together in this kind of way and look forward to hearing more stories just like this one. Of course you all remember our LuckyRentals blog post.

If you’re predominantly a buyer on Fiverr and have been using creative services like this for your own business, we’d love to hear your story. Leave a message in the comments below so we can get back to you.
