Morissa Schwartz, feefeertr on Fiverr, finished her degree a year early, and is now pursuing a graduate degree in Corporate and Public Communications. She writes for the Entertainment Weekly Community, is a bestselling author and owns her own publishing company.I have been singing and writing for as long as I can remember, and Fiverr is an amazing way to share those passions with people from around the world.I originally heard about Fiverr from my mother who read about it in a women's magazine. She thought it would be a great way to get my singing and music out there. I have done a lot of music for Fiverr clients, and even landed a spot singing on MTV, but my biggest sellers have been for editing, proofreading, and writing, which is also what motivated me to get my book "Notes Never Sent" published and to start my own publishing company, GenZ Publishing.

The Perfect Student Job

Fiverr played a major role in my life throughout college, as it was my main job. I would go to my university's library to work on school work and do my Fiverr work. I struck a great balance. I actually started selling on Fiverr while I was still in high school, so while my friends were getting traditional jobs at the mall and internships, I focused on building my online businesses. It was great, because I worked with so many people and was really able to explore many different passions and interests and constantly improve. My advice for students and post-grads working on Fiverr looking to gain experience in their field is to persevere and to go for it! In college, there are very specific paths you are geared toward, all revolving around a traditional 9-5 job, but my experience on Fiverr taught me that is not the only way to be successful and that you can use your talents and passions daily and actually earn wages for it. And I love the people that you meet working on Fiverr.

I Meet People from All Around the World Through Fiverr

I will write an article for somebody in France, edit a paper for someone in California, and provide a voiceover for a client in Canada all in the same day. That is the norm. I experience other cultures just through my work online in ways that I never could with an ‘office’ job. So while I, as a freelancer, miss out on having co-workers and office culture, I am a part of a whole different culture where I can work with a client in Tel Aviv at 1:00 AM or a client in NYC at 4:00 PM. I like the flexibility to work when and how much I please. I may work at 1:00 AM, but at 1:00 PM I am free to go out and have recreational time or I can choose to work on another project. There is no monotony or boredom. This is something that someone like my grandparents would have never even dreamed of from their traditional 9-5 jobs.

Fiverr Has Opened Many Doors for Me

I now own and operate my own publishing company, GenZ Publishing. We have published seven books so far this year, and I am working on books with about a dozen other authors. Fiverr gave me the experience I needed to start this business. I still do work on Fiverr, making music, advertising for companies on my blog, and of course writing/editing, because I love Fiverr.I am the type of person who will stay up until 4:00 am working, and I like to get tasks completed early, which is different from many people’s working styles. That is why being able to work like this is extremely important to me. Fiverr's model allows for my work model to thrive. Working on Fiverr has given me so many life skills and experiences, and I am so grateful for that.
