Jingle Bells, Fiverr Sells !

Are those sleigh bells we can hear outside Fiverr HQ?
Wait a minute… is that snow?
Hold on just a jolly second, can I smell fresh pine needles?

It’s December already and Christmas is coming!

It’s just as well that our ultra cool team of techie bods were on the ball and have already installed a nifty little Christmas and Holidays section in our categories menu.

If you’re looking for an inexpensive and creative way to buy gifts this Christmas then Fiverr is your one-stop shop to happiness. Our beloved users have already started coming up with zany Gig ideas keeping in with the season. We’ve seen a dancing Ms Santa, a singing angel, a beatboxing elf and even Santa himself (although we’re not sure about that beard.)

Don’t be a Christmas Grinch – Head on down to the Fiverr Christmas category and check out the Winter Wonderland that awaits you!

Oops! You’ve Reached the End of the Internet…

404 pages on the Internet are a pain in the butt, we agree. There’s few things more annoying than misplacing a page or Gig, which is why we decided to make the whole experience just a little more bearable.

Here at Fiverr HQ we like to poke fun at ourselves as much as anybody else and occasionally when a 404 page rears it’s ugly head, it’ll be a nice surprise rather than an ugly ‘you’ve reached the end of the Internet’ horror story.

Even the Fiverr 404 Page will blow your socks off!

Introducing the new Fiverr 404 Page (It kinda feels wrong introducing such a thing) where you’ll find some of our more idiosyncratic Fiverr users announcing ‘OOPS!’ in their own whimsical ways.

In all honestly, although we’re very proud of our silliness, we do hope that on this occasion you never actually end up on our 404 page. C’mon guys, there’s Gigs to buy and sell out there!

Think you’ve got what it takes to be one of the randomly rotating videos on here? Drop our wonderful support team a line or leave a comment below.

Happy Gigging guys.

The Gift That Keeps on Gigging

Ah yes, here come the holidays, and Santa isn’t the only one coming to town this year. In the spirit of the season we are introducing a Gigtastic new feature that will enable you to give the unique gift of Fiverr for friends or loved ones.

Seriously, this is cooler than Santa’s fridge!

Introducing: Fiverr Gift Cards

If you’re anything like me, you usually wait until the very last minute to get your holiday presents. I find that 4:30PM on December the 24th is a great time to go shopping. Who wants to deal with the dangers of going to the store on Black Friday? Who wants to risk being trampled by people looking for this year’s hot holiday gift? This year, why not give the gift of Fiverr?

Here’s how it works:

Fiverr Gift Cards can be purchased for $5, $20, and $50, this way you get to choose how much you really care. It’s not like Joe from work and your girlfriend or boyfriend are equally important to you, right?

To purchase a gift card, first login to your Fiverr account. See that fancy new button on the homepage of Fiverr? (above) Click it. You will be taken to the order page:

Fill out the required information and click “Continue”

Looks pretty neat, right?

Your friend or loved one will receive a cool email showing a Fiverr Gift Card, along with a personalized message. The email will include a link to sign in to Fiverr and redeem their gift card. If they are not already a Fiverr user, they can click the link and register. Once logged in with their new or existing Fiverr account, the gift card funds will be in the “My Shopping” tab.

It’s that simple!

So this year, don’t get stuck frantically trying to find a gift last minute, or getting something lame that will be returned the next day. What do you get for the person who has everything? The answer is The Fiverr Gift Card. Spread the holiday cheer with the gift that keeps gigging!

Merry Gigging!

[UPDATE: Here's a quick video with a walk-through of how Gift Cards work]

How to say “Thank you” on Fiverr

The leaves have all but fallen off the trees, it’s getting very cold out, the holiday season has just begun and that can only mean one thing: Thanksgiving is here!  While all the cooks are busy in our kitchens preparing a feast and the rest of you are playing board games and watching awful re-runs on the television, we wanted to take a moment to thank all of you, our Fiverr users for being such great stars!

Being nice and treating others with kindness goes a long way especially on Fiverr. So here’s 5 top tips on how to say ‘Thank you’ to users that you connect with:

5. Leave feedback. Make sure the buyer or seller knows they’re appreciated. It’s a great public way to say “thank you”:

4. Whether you’re a buyer or a seller, follow up on the Gig after it’s been delivered. It’s great to hear what your hard work has been used for and if indeed it’s working!

3. If what you’ve received was extra awesome then why not order the Gig again for a friend? You could even buy another one of the services they offer by visiting their profile page. You’ll never know how much it’ll make their day!

2. Try and deliver a little more than what you’re offering in your Gig. Everyone knows it’s more fun to give than receive!

1. When a seller really goes out of their way, making a great Gig for you, thank them by sharing their Gig with your friends using the social media ‘share’ buttons.

Thank you, from all the staff at Fiverr HQ. We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving. Try not to eat too much turkey & have a fun day shopping tomorrow!

Happy Gigging.

Gig Indecisiveness Disorder (aka “GID”)

Do you suffer from Gig Indecisiveness? Do you find yourself staring at Fiverr.com, knowing you want something, but unable to figure out what it is?

You are not alone. Even the most veteran Fiverr buyers have experienced Gig Indecisiveness Disorder (aka “GID”). Our highly trained technicians understand this and have been working on a cure for some time now. Today we are proud to report that we’ve made some great progress towards ending this plight and are ready to start deploying a cure Fiverr-wide.

It’s name: The Random Gig feature. And it’s about to put an end to GID forever!

Here’s how it works:

Head over to Fiverr.com and click the fancy new “Random Gig” button below the categories menu on the right hand side of the homepage to initiate “Shuffle Mode”.

You will be transported to a completely Random Gig page:

See the black Random Gig bar at the top of the page? It will follow you throughout your time in Shuffle Mode and also conveniently shows the category and tags of the Gig you are looking at.

Do you like this Gig? Go right ahead and order it. Not in a buying mood? Simply click the star on the Random Gig bar and have it saved for later.

Not interested in the Gig? Just want more?  Click the “Hit me again” button and another Random Gig will appear.

Just keep clicking until something strikes your fancy. The remedy is that simple!

So if you have been suffering from a bad case of Gig indecisiveness Disorder, come and check out the newest feature on Fiverr.com: Random Gigs.

Happy Gigging!

P.S.: If you experience an episode of Gig Indecisiveness for more than 4 hours, contact your physician immediately.

Fiverr’s Mission Control: We Have Lift-Off

Strap yourselves in, because today we’re unleashing some awesome features for buyers and sellers on Fiverr.com that will revolutionize the way you manage your Gigs. Introducing Mission Control:

Are you strapped in yet? Let’s take a closer look at the new layout:

  1. Shopping Dashboard: Switch between tabs with ease to have a look at all the awesome Gigs you’ve been buying!
  2. Seller’s Dashboard: A handy place to manage all the stellar Gigs you offer. Simply select My Gigs, Manage Sales or Revenues to instantly be transported to your required destination!
  3. Wider Workspace: By making some radical visual adjustments we’ve increased your working space on Mission Control by giving you the full width of the page to work on!
  4. Starred Orders: Now you can literally ‘reach for the stars’ with this incredibly handy addition to your workflow. Simply star any order that is of importance or needs follow up and it’ll be placed in this section. Cool, huh?

Like the changes? Yeah? Want More?

What’s this, happening over in the Inbox page?

We recognise that sometimes messages from certain buyers or sellers need a revisit or followup later on. This is why we’ve released the new ‘Starred’ filter section in your inbox. Simply click on the star to the left of the message and it’ll be automatically included in the Starred filter tab.

Surely by now you’re bedazzled by the stars you’re seeing! Well we’ve got one more improvement to show you, and you guessed it – More of those wonderful stars!

The pretty red heart that you’ve grown oh so used to loving is being upgraded to a shiny new star, but otherwise, this feature remains as cool as it was.

And that pretty much completes today’s launch. We’ve been having a blast @ Fiverr HQ playing with all the new starry features and are sure you’ll make the most of them too!

Happy Gigging guys!

Prime Time with Consumer Bob

Last week NBC’s Consumer Bob ran a great Fiverr story highlighting several Gigs and sellers on their TV show. Being the generous bunch that we are (not to mention being totally psyched about it) we felt compelled to share it with you!

Ch-ch-ch-check it out:

You’ll need to be patient as there’s a short advert at the beginning of the video, but it’s worth the wait!

Several Gigs were featured in the broadcast, including the beatboxing Esalaah, the animated sounding Chrishardy & the artistic beautician Aacquinto. Congratulations on making the prime time guys, we’re super-proud of you!

Crowdsourcing via The Fiverr Community

It’s time to get your thinking caps on, there’s a buyer in town with pockets full of Fiverrs and a grand prize at the end of it for the very best purchase.

Online cloud-based storage and file transfer startup MAXXO are buying up creative Gigs on Fiverr like there’s no tomorrow. The reason being, to create a buzz around their official launch that is planned in just 30 days.

This is from a recent press release about the initiative: “In a bold move in keeping with the company’s user-oriented philosophy, Maxxo has decided to crowd-source all creative materials for its launch campaign from Fiverr.com”. Maxxo tell us that they are looking for everything from animation to hilarious customer testimonials.

Founder and CEO Vedran Sisak continued… “it seems rather a waste of our hard-earned launch money to enlist the help of a marketing and advertising agency that will powerpoint us to death discussing ‘online strategy.” Amen!

Interested and don’t want to miss out on the action? Then you can drop MAXXO a link via their Fiverr landing page to a suitably creative Gig here:

Click and submit your creative Gig!

Enlisting Fiverr sellers to come up with exciting ideas and campaigns for projects such as this one is a clever idea. The competition is bound to be fierce because we’ve seen the incredible talent and creativity before on a similar project harnessing the talents of the Fiverr community run by Luckyrentals over the Summer.

So what happens next?

Every Gig that MAXXO purchase will be posted on their official Facebook page. The video, picture or project that has been created and purchased from a Fiverr user with the most ‘likes’ by the end of the campaign with be awarded by MAXXO with a very smooth $500 cash prize!

Yes, they are giving away $500 – and one of you guys are going to win it!

Head on down to Maxxo’s landing page now and suggest your creative Gig by posting the link in the section provided.
