Fiverr User Jerseyferretti Makes Headlines with Christopher Walken Impression.

Have you ever been told you look like someone?

How about, have you ever been told you sound like someone?

Perhaps, at parties you like to crack out an impression of a famous celebrity.

Well that’s exactly what Fiverr user Jerseyferretti does. What’s more, he earns very well from doing so.

Jerseyferretti recently appeared in a news story in the Jersey Journal that highlights his successes on Fiverr:

Chris doesn’t look like Chris but he certainly sounds like Chris

Jerseyferretti, real name Chris Ferratti, actually impersonates another Chris – that being Christopher Walken. He does a damn fine job of it too. He uploaded this video to his Youtube channel which demonstrates just how awesome he is. Be careful though, the language used in the video isn’t appropriate for little people and is certainly NSFW (mostly).

Jerseyferretti, we wish you continued success on Fiverr.

This is the type of media attention we love to see. We want YOU to get more exposure for the hard work that you’re doing! If you’ve got a great Gig or Fiverr story to share with us then please leave us a comment below. It would be awesome to hear from you.

Happy Gigging guys.

You’ve Made us Blush – “Thank You Fiverr Support”

Have you ever visited the Fiverr customer support page before? If you have you’ll know that it says:

“Our team is here 25 hours a day, 8 days a week just to keep you smiling and enjoying Fiverr.”

And that’s true, well, true in as much as Reuben & co are relentless in helping you guys continue to have a great experience here on our shiny little piece of the Internet.

So this afternoon when one of our persistent complainers (we say that with love) Madmoo got in touch to say nothing more than thank you for putting up with her and that she wanted to do so in a more public way, it seemed obvious to invite her to write a guest blog post for us. Something, I’m glad the coffee making, spaghetti sprawling, crafty genius was able to do right away.

Madmoo tends to waffle on a bit with her messages, and we should know because there’s been a whopping 71 support tickets assigned to her alone! However, we think this is just perfect the way it is:

“I feel it’s about time I mentioned the thankless task that is Fiverr support. Ok, maybe it’s not thankless all of the time, but I know I have my fair share of moans when things go wrong and don’t always take the time out to show appreciation for what they do.

Earlier today I had a query about one of my new gigs not showing in the searches – I was concerned that I might be losing potential customers because of it and decided to fire off another ticket. As is usually the case, my query ran to more than the one page and covered three issues by the time I’d finished. I’m like that – ask anyone who knows me … [Ed. Yes, we know!]
Anyway, within 5 minutes I had a reply from Max, addressing every point, explaining what he’d done and asking me to report back if it wasn’t fixed. He even asked me if I’d had a nice time on my recent holiday.
We exchanged a few more messages and the problems were fixed or being fixed – all within the space of half an hour.

Thanks Max – I’m keeping you busy today! :)
Haha. It’s always nice to hear from you and I enjoy helping you! :)

I think it’s easy to forget the grief they must have to put up with – the fact that they are working in support means that most of their day must be spent dealing with problems and with people like me who want instant results. I still DO want instant results, but those manning the help desk such as Max (and Ryan, Reuben, Jay, Joel and whoever else I missed) make you feel like you’re not just a number or ‘that moaning woman again’ (and if they feel that way, they manage to hide it very well!)

It’s really nice to know they’re real people and are concerned about how we’re doing.
A group photo would be good – what do you say team? I promise we won’t throw darts at it, like in the recent gig you highlighted on the Facebook page! :)

Thanks again – you put a smile on my face this morning and hopefully I can carry on being busy while you look after the technical side.”

Thank you, Madmoo! It means a great deal. Believe me when I tell you that the support team know you very well here and enjoy the long chats.

If you’re also a Fiverr user reading this and until now have felt a little scared to get in touch with the guys responsible for your happiness, don’t be. They’re just as human as you and I (although I suspect Reuben may be super-human as he manages 20 hour shifts quite frequently). But what matters is that they really do take every single message they receive seriously.

OH, and as for a photo of the team… we’re working on it :-)

Halloween is coming! What are you going to do about it?

Halloween is just around the corner and the fun (and sometime spooky) gigs are here to spice up your holiday.

Where can I find the Halloween section you ask? We’ve hired one of the world’s leading graphic designers to illustrate it for you:

Fiverr Halloween Section

If you are a seller and wish to have your gig(s) included in the Fiverr Halloween Section, all you need to do is add “Halloween” as a tag to your gig and the magic will happen. Amazing!

Becoming a Top Rated Seller

One month ago, one of our featured web experts, Twistedweb123 was promoted on Fiverr to the very sought after Top Rated Seller status. His Gigs on the most part offer practical solutions and much needed criticism for companies or individuals with a presence on the Internet. His main Gig ironically offers to tell buyers what they don’t want to hear by revealing where they went wrong with their website and what can be done to improve it.

Twisted123′s top selling and featured Gig offers buyers an outsider’s insight on improvements that can be made on their website.

After already spending several months as a seller, keeping an impeccable record and having completed many hundreds of sales we felt it would be a great opportunity to catch up with him and see how the experience of making it into the top tier of sellers had been:

Hey Twisted, nice tattoos. (we noticed your other Gig). How’s it going and would you mind having a short conversation with us ?

Hi there, Fiverr! It’s nice to be here in blog format. I read it all the time and have always wanted to be mentioned. It’s funny you should mention my tattoo gig as I’m actually thinking of adding a $20 extra “I will get whatever you want tattooed on me” just to test the full imagination of my fellow Fiverrs. ;-)

When you were made a TRS, was it a surprise? How did it feel?

It was literally like finding out that the numbers on the toaster are not a heat setting, rather a time limited, I was completely shocked. I instantly rang my girlfriend as if I’d just had a big promotion at work (it was past midnight, she was less than thrilled).

How has it affected your sales on Fiverr?

It has been crazy sales wise. I was used to getting 5-10 orders a day, it’s only been a month and I’m already average more than double that.
The option of selling extras and receiving multiple-orders really is the best thing since sliced bread. Seeing orders coming in for more than $5 at first was nerve racking, but it was nothing a good lunar love punch (southern comfort, WKD blue & Apple sourz… Try it seriously) couldn’t get me powering through!

As a source of income, how important is Fiverr now you’re a Top Rated Seller?

To me, when I first joined Fiverr, it was all about the networking opportunities. $5 may be a small fee for a big product, but the opportunity to meet thousands of like minded business people was priceless.
Now, ‘TRS’ has not only increased my networking, but it has also bought on so many opportunities and requests for services I don’t even offer. The increase in my Fiverr income has literally overtaken my usual day job. Each of my gigs is literally like my child, and every time I receive feedback they mature in age and wisdom.

You’ve only been a TRS for a month, but could you tell us how you see your future as a seller on Fiverr?

At the moment, as you mentioned, most of my gigs are business related but I’m a big kid at heart. I really want to start broadening my scope and become more creative. There are so many great categories on Fiverr, I really want to offer a unique service in each and help build this amazing community.

Any final thoughts?

All I can think to say is quick message to my buyers: I love feedback and depend on it to live, please take just a moment to leave some when finishing orders as it really does mean a great deal to me.

Thanks for taking the time out of your busy Fiverr schedule to speak to us. If you’d like to speak with Twistedweb123 and find out what sort of advice he could offer to improve your website, visit his Gig page here.

Fiverr Podcast – Episode 4

Introducing the new, bite-sized, official Fiverr Podcast!

Hunky Dory, Jackinory

There’s nothing more satisfying to us than hearing about the life changing experiences you guys have had because of Fiverr. Quirky video artist and musician Jackinory recently reached an impressive milestone for any seller and wanted to share it with us:

1,000 dollars

Congratulations on making $1000 on Fiverr, Jackinory!

We were so delighted for him that we asked if he’d do us the honour and write a special blog post so we could share his achievement with everyone. He’s a little odd and certainly has his own style, so keep an open mind when reading ;)

Over to you, Jackinory:

“So currently I’m laying in bed, using my laptop, editing videos and I just checked my earnings, $1012! I’ve done it, I’ve done something that I set out to do and the feeling is fantastic.

I’m going to explain why making a $1000 on Fiverr has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life – apart from the time a friend’s cat jumped at me to give me a cuddle.

I started on Fiverr 11 months ago, originally it was a case of SamCornwell telling me about it, then me thinking “No one will buy a video of him ranting like a turnip”, but If I could eat any type of hat, it would be the worlds biggest Sombrero right now. So I thought if he could do it, then I could too! I started off with some very embarrassing Gigs which got many orders! ‘zero’ to be exact, I’d failed on my first attempt.

A few months later thing’s really took off when my Dad bought me a Motor bike, I had to pay him back ASAP, I hate borrowing money from him and the guilt soon took over. It spurred me on to make a better Gig, thus creating a video service featuring yours truly. A short while after that I was featured by the wonderful Fiverr staff and the real love story started there!

I’m not the biggest seller on Fiverr by a long shot, I usually get about 3/4 gigs a day to keep me occupied so I plough through them when the fellow housemates have gone to sleep land, I find it easier to work at night as I feel I’m more creative (and also half asleep).

To finish this off I’d like to mention that in September this year I won a competition set up by Microsoft in which I had to make a video stating why I wanted a makeover for my student house. I won the competition! The Windows team will be decorating my living room in my student house very soon and giving me some fantastic prizes! If it wasn’t for Fiverr, I wouldn’t of had the confidence to record myself at all, and now look at where it’s going for me. Amongst the prizes is a phone with HD recording capabilites and so a Hi-Def Gig is in the making, I can feel it! – I will make a video so clear and crisp you’ll be able to see the sweat on my forehead for $5!”

Thank You Fiverr.com”

Ahhh…. Stories like this are why we just LOVE what we do!

Jackinory also recently set up a Facebook page so he could keep his fans informed of his progress on the site.

If you’d like to see more of what Jackinory does please visit his Fiverr user page.

Open the pod bay doors, Siri.

Hey Fiverrs! You’d have to be on another planet to not realise the brand new Apple iPhone 4s was released today. Those of you lucky/savvy enough to have reserved one will already have it bracing the palm of your hand. Aside from the improved camera, CPU and iOS5, the brand new iPhone comes with a genius little professor, somewhat akin to HAL 9000 that you can have conversations with.
Don’t know what I’m talking about? Then have a look at this video for a tongue in cheek explanation

A few Fiverr users cottoned on to this brand new market that was being created and immediately offered the services of Siri exclusively on Fiverr. Have a look at this Gig offered by iPhone expert Chilled35:

We’ve noticed that Siri can be quite quirky at times and offer some rather strange answers. We’ve compiled a few screenshots that we’ve made ourselves that will have you in stitches. We found it especially funny to keep mentioning the infamous “open the pod bay doors” line from Space Odyssey 2001. Siri didn’t find it quite as funny though:

Thank you to the ShitThtatSiriSays Tumblr page for inspiring our Siri styled bullying.

If you have any other questions that reveal secret parts of Siri’s personality we would love it if you shared them with us and left a comment below.
