Juan games developer

Juan, Tonitogames on Fiverr, is a mobile game developer from Mexico. He started developing apps about two years ago, launched his first game in April of 2014, and now has a couple of apps on the App Store and Google Play. He also develops games for customers on Fiverr, and one of his games was featured on Mexican television. Here is Juan’s story.

Getting Started on Fiverr

I first heard of Fiverr through a marketing email that linked back to Fiverr. I was skeptical at first, but I did some research on Fiverr and I decided to buy a $5 Gig® to test it out. When my Gig was delivered perfectly, I became a believer. I then decided to give Fiverr a try as a seller and created my first Gig. I wanted to share my talent for developing games, so my Gig is to create an iPad, iPhone, Android game. I didn’t think I would get any messages right away, but to my surprise, I got four messages that same day, and one of the buyers ordered my Gig! Most of my buyers are small businesses or individuals trying to get into the world of apps and games, since this is a growing industry. My most interesting buyer was very excited about making a game. I really liked his entrepreneurial spirit, so we discussed his idea and decided to collaborate to develop Andale Vini. This game took a good while to develop because it required a lot of changes in graphics, animation, gameplay, and mechanics. My brother helped with some of the graphics so I could get the game done a bit faster, and I continued working on other Fiverr Gigs at the same time to help finance the effort. I also bought the chip-tune to match Andale Vini’s pixel art on Fiverr. It was made by the very talented artist Mentalcacao, and it is based on the Jarabe Tapatio, a traditional song from Mexico. The hard work really paid off, and Adale Vini was recently featured on Mexican television.

Where I am Today

Around 40% of my income now comes from Fiverr. I use it to pay rent, utilities, and food, and I still have enough for other things. Earning dollars in Mexico is truly a privilege! I live in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, and I recently moved to the beach, a dream I was able to fulfill thanks to the freedom of working from my computer and the extra income earned from Fiverr. I also earn revenue from the apps on the App Store and Google Play.Fiverr has had a huge impact on my life. Having the freedom to do what you love is something most people I have met want, and I am actually doing it! Fiverr has also given me the chance to meet and work with people who have a similar mindset to mine.I will continue to work hard in order to expand my business and take on new challenges.
