Unboxing MOO’s New Luxe Business Cards

If you ever bought a new Apple product, you probably went through the magnificent unboxing experience Apple has crafted. Apple has mastered it – they are as meticulous about the package of the product as they are about the product itself.

It doesn’t matter if you end up throwing the package away, the impression that the unboxing experience leaves you with will be forever tied with how you think about the product. There is an unconscious influence that a great package has on the coolness factor of the product itself

Not long ago, I experienced the opposite when I purchased a pair of headphones from a very well known brand. The model I chose was from their high-end series and it had great reviews. This manufacturer is a very reputable headphones maker, and yet the packaging of the product I purchased didn’t say all that. Instead, it gave an overall sense of an OK product, maybe even a little cheap. For me, that was a complete turnoff. It took me some time before I gave the actual headphones a proper chance after struggling to forget the poor unboxing experience.

At Fiverr we always think about that when we have product sessions. We know that if we treat our products with respect and pay endless attention to details, there is a good chance that our customers will treat it with the same respect.

MOO is exactly this type of company – it thinks of every detail, from the order process through shipping to unboxing as a whole. Ordering from MOO is a treat.

Recently, I decided to print up new business cards, largely because MOO sent me an email introducing their new super thick “Luxe” cards. Once the cards arrived I couldn’t resist filming the unboxing experience and sharing it with you. Credit for the design of the cards goes to Tofupanda from Fiverr.

Here goes:

How awesome is that!?

They Emerged from a Cheez-It Box…

Over the weekend, a strange box arrived through the letterbox that had ‘Cheez-It’ written on it. What on Earth is a Cheez-It I thought?

I opened the box and one by one, little creatures started appearing. Were these Cheez-Its?

In total there were 8 of the cute little critters, all soft and cuddly and ready to make friends. They’d been on a very long journey and were in need of some attention.

Oh, and they all had names…

Meet Derek, the duck. Apparently, his quack echoes!

This little fella is called Stuart. He’s a dinosaur that only eats bugs. (He’s too small for reindeer and people, but don’t mention that, it upsets him.)

Fresh out of water, this is Kimberly the kissing fish. Kim often gets mistaken for a certain animated fish, but insists that she’s the real deal!

Frank is a beaver that likes to get jobs done. He’s building a shed at the moment, wants to be a sculptor and thinks dams are a waste of his time.

I didn’t catch this little blighter’s name, but I can tell you it was purple, one eyed, horned and could fly.

Meet Kenny, the robot who could ski.

This is Michelle. Michelle has a problem with facial hair and often gets told she looks like a man.

And finally, the leader of the pack – Belinda the courageous lion. She had quite a loud roar that put naughty Cheez-Its in their place!

After a bit of interrogation, I finally found out where they came from. They’d travelled many miles all the way from here. Apparently they have lots of friends that need rescuing too.

Sometimes Breathlessbloom finds herself overwhelmed and can only assist the rescue of a couple of critters a time, however there are plenty of other similar little beings that need your help. Check them out here.

Unboxing My $5 Star Wars Stickers

The promise was simple yet wonderful: gorillapunch will send me six packages of unopened Star Wars stickers for $5. I just couldn’t resist. You can probably understand my feelings on this. I mean, Star Wars!

About a week later, my quick $5 Fiverr order turned up as a brown envelope in my mail box. That is, my real-life-snail-mail.

Quickly unboxing the thing revealed a rare (or not, who cares) treasure: Six moments frozen in time. Six time capsules in mint condition. Six collectible Star Wars’ sticker envelopes.

I tore the first envelope, only to find these six “memory-bombs”, which — as planned — boosted me with geek-nostalgia. Six of my childhood memories: My new paper toys.

And there was this personal note attached, written by gorillapunch (Dennis):

“Help spread the Word”, he says. Gorillapunch, my Chewbacca friend, I hope this post will suffice :) Here’s a little taste of gorillapunch’s gig. The delivered package in whole:
