Hello again. The last time we spoke things were just about to get started at the 2012 Olympics. We were eagerly anticipating the opening ceremony and had our Fiverr-personalized Olympic gear out and ready for action.
Well, now we’re in the full swing of things. The opening ceremony was a huge success. The Queen jumped out of a helicopter with James Bond, J.K. Rowling read us a story and Paul McCartney closed the ceremony with a Beatles’ classic.
Theatrics aside, some sportsmen and women are already serving up some major cases of whoop ass. We’ve already fallen in love with gymnast John Orozco. At age 7 he went to his first gym class in the Bronx and twelve years later he’s wowing us all, performing more spins than a ballerina on speed.
Speaking of speed, did you watch the french swimming team overtake the USA team at the very last moment? It had us all at the edge of our seats. (I’m not a great swimmer, but that’s because it has never been more than half an hour since my last meal).
All that aside, it’s time to focus on our next Olympic ring and therefore another region of the world.
Timon and Pumbaa were right on target when they sang those famous words… Hakuna Matata! You guessed it, our next region is none other than Africa! With that comes 5 Fiverr-tastic Gigs to customise your Olympic experience and make your lives that much more enjoyable.
Ready? Here we go…
1) Chug, chug, chug! (South Africa)
Beer drinking isn’t an official Olympic sport… but we think it should be! OK, that may not happen anytime soon, but Justamobile will still help you impress your friends with the secret to chugging a 500ml beer in just 2-5 seconds.
2) What’s cooking, good looking? (South Africa)
So, you want to have a bunch of buddies over to watch the Olympics and enjoy a great meal. Only problem, you hate looking for recipes and feel overwhelmed. Brandnewcycle to the rescue. Not only will she plan a 3 course meal for you, she’ll also provide you with the recipes and a preparation plan. Delicious!
3) Run run, as fast as you can (Kenya)
The long distance runners to watch during the Olympics are from Kenya, a country with a rich tradition of producing incredible track athletes. Kenya won 14 medals four years ago in the Beijing Olympics. Their secret? We don’t know for sure but maybe they’re reading Rosepearl’s guide to marathon secrets.
4) Kenya all the way!(Kenya)
If you’re trying to spread a message in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, you may not be as successful as their running team. Don’t worry, Deshinali has this area covered. She will post 100 of your posters around the city. Talk about spreading the message!
5) Starry Starry Night (Algeria)
While the only gold medal we gonna see this Olympic season is through a television set, that still won’t prevent us from becoming stars! From sports to the streets of LA, Bassemjaber will get your name written on the Hollywood Walk of Fame (kinda). This makes an awesome gift!
South Africa, Kenya and everywhere in between - we’ve got you covered this Olympic season. Keep you checking on the blog, as we soon focus on another region participating in the Olympic Games 2012. With that comes more personalized gigs from those regions. Get the Gigs and show off! The difference between you and your friends? You make this look good!
What has been the highlight of the 2012 Games for you so far?

Haha ! I’m from AFRICA too. Good gigs ! :)
I expect one day to be featured on Fiverr too. I’m already a level 2. :p
Thanks for the good work ! Ya Guys rock.
INDONESIA badminton!!
I love Indonesia! I hope Indonesia will be the next Andalusia..
Though we are poor in Olympic, all of us enjoy the arrival of her highness Queen Eligebeth, which was not expected by many. Thanks to the organizers. Hoping India will do good by promoting themselves by medal talley. Africans are more dedicated than India in promotion Their ethics are better, under the Great leadership of his highness, the father of Africa,Mr.Nelson Mandela.
Oh, this is exciting! I’m lovin’ the championship so far.
The story of one African participant is really inspiring, so I want to share it with you. Guor Marial, who will participate in the Olympics running marathon in 2012, has no passports and is not a citizen of any country. He’s the first Olympian without any true country. His first marathon (26.2 miles) was just over 2 hours and 15 minutes. He’s got a chance to win at the Olympics. BTW, his family fled Sudan because 28 of them died from violence and sickness during Sudan Civil War. Even he was kidnapped as a child and forced to work for the south Sudanese rebels. (Never give up in life.)

My best friends dad made this at his conmapy in Coventry, it’s an amazing achievement, not only for his conmapy, but for the UK, having the London 2012 olympic torch to be made in the UK and NOT the likes of China. The actual torch IS dipped in REAL gold, obviously the prototype isn’t it will cost too much money just for a prototype and the Olympic commitee aren’t going to pay out for that now.
Thank you, I have just been searching for info about this subject for a long time and yours is the best I have discovered so far. However, what about the conclusion? Are you certain about the supply?|What i don’t realize is actually how you are now not actually much more well-liked than you might be right now. You’re so intelligent.
My trip to Africa wasn’t only a blast, but, it was extremely educational! I love Africa!
Really inspiring story!
Thanks for featuring my Gig and here’s to all the Olympians regardless of their nationality because qualifying for the Olympics is something to be feted.
I’m so glad to see Fiverr featuring Africa–though as a Nigerian American it would’ve been nice to see some West coast representation, lol! I guess we’ll have to wait for FIFA…
Well EmmmeW, Like you, I am Cameroonian American and I completely understand how you fell. There is some west coast representation although not good at all. Our Women’s football/soccer team is frighteningly horrible, although just making it to the Olympics in itself is an accomplishment. Your basket team (Nigeria) had a better showing but we can’t forget Senagal’s men’s football team who doing really well. So for West Afrique, there are some bright spots. Even more so for Africa as a whole. I love it!
Very cool post!! Totally different than what I expected =) It is really great to see so many diverse topics covered here on Fiverr =)
CONGRATS FAB FIVE!
A lot of nigerians here i see
Hey – I missed the opening ceremonies!
Has someone got them recorded – I’d certainly pay a Fiver for that!
This years Olympic games have been quite interesting and memorable. It’s sad I won’t be seeing Shawn Johnson this year.
